Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses a powerful laser or intense pulsed light (IPL) to remove unwanted hair, this light source heats and destroys hair follicles in the skin. Pigment in the follicles absorb the light, that destroys the hair, which disrupts hair growth.
Common areas to be treated are,
• Face/Neck
• Legs, Arms /Underarms / Bikini line
• Front /Back
You’ll need multiple sessions of laser hair removal, before you can expect results.
If you are planning on undergoing laser hair removal then stop doing plucking, threading or waxing, for at least 2-3 weeks before treatment. That's because the laser targets the hair roots. You should also avoid sun exposure for few weeks before and after treatment. Before the procedure begins, the hair that's to be removed will be trimmed very low, or the doctor might instruct you to shave it the day before.
